How the site works and how it earns

Is FeeLessTrade free to use?
Yes, using this site is free. We may earn a commission from an exchange when you register through our link, at no extra cost to you. Any fee discount you receive is set by the exchange.
How do I get started?
Choose an exchange from our referral links page, open its guide, and follow the step-by-step sign-up. Check the exchange's fees and its licence status in your country before you deposit.

Fees and referral discounts

Where can I compare crypto trading fees?
Fees change often and depend on your VIP tier, order type and the product, so check each exchange's current fee schedule directly. Our fee comparison shows the base spot and futures fees we could confirm on each exchange's own pages, with the date checked and a source link.

Do I get a discount if I sign up through your link?
Some exchanges give referred users a fee discount or promotion through their referral programs. If an exchange offers one, the exchange sets it and can change it, so we do not quote a figure. After you register, check the fee page in your account.
What is the difference between maker and taker fees?
A maker order adds liquidity to the order book, for example a limit order that waits for its price. A taker order removes liquidity, for example a market order that fills immediately. Exchanges usually charge makers a lower rate than takers.
How much does a fee cost on my trade?
Multiply the trade size by the fee rate, and remember a round trip pays the fee twice, once to open and once to close. Our fee calculator does the arithmetic.

Earning as a referrer

How much can I earn by referring people?
Affiliate terms are set by each exchange's own program and can change, so check the exchange for current terms. Earnings depend on how much the people you refer trade and are not guaranteed; many referrers earn little or nothing.
When do I get paid, and is there a minimum payout?
Payment schedules and minimum payouts are set by each exchange. Check the exchange's affiliate terms for the details.
How do I share my referral link and track my referrals?
Each exchange lets you generate a referral link in your account, usually in an affiliate or referral section, where a dashboard also shows who signed up through it. You can have referral links for more than one exchange.
Is promoting crypto exchanges legal?
Rules on promoting crypto differ by country. Check your local regulations and each exchange's affiliate terms, and always disclose your affiliate relationship. Do not treat this answer as legal advice.
Do I need to pay tax on referral income?
Tax rules vary by country. Ask a tax professional how to report referral income where you live.

Security and safety

Are MEXC, Bybit, Bitget, OKX and KCEX safe?
Licensing and security differ by exchange and by country. Each exchange describes security measures such as two-factor authentication, and some publish proof-of-reserves reports, but proof of reserves is a point-in-time snapshot and not a guarantee, and no exchange is risk-free. Check each exchange's own current security pages and licence status where you live, and only keep on an exchange what you can afford to lose.

See each exchange's guide

How do I protect my account?
Use a unique strong password, turn on two-factor authentication with an authenticator app, enable any anti-phishing protection, bookmark the official site, and never share a recovery phrase or code. Be suspicious of anyone who contacts you first offering help or guaranteed returns.
Is my data safe on this site?
This site has no accounts or deposits. Read our privacy policy for what it handles, and read each exchange's own privacy and security practices before you register with it.

How to buy cryptocurrency

How do I buy Bitcoin (BTC)?
Register on an exchange, complete any identity verification it asks for, deposit funds, open the BTC/USDT spot market, place a market or limit order and check your balance. Compare each exchange's current fee schedule before you place an order.

How to buy Bitcoin: exchanges, fees and steps

How do I buy Ethereum (ETH)?
Create an account on an exchange that lists ETH, verify it if asked, deposit USDT or other funds, open the ETH/USDT spot market and place a market or limit order. Keep some ETH if you later withdraw to your own wallet, because gas is paid in ETH.

How do I buy Solana, XRP, BNB, Dogecoin, Toncoin or Pepe?
The steps are the same: pick an exchange that lists the coin, fund the account, open the spot market for the coin and place your order. The differences are in withdrawals: XRP and TON deposits usually need a destination tag or memo, BNB exists on more than one network, and PEPE moves on Ethereum. Each coin has its own guide.

How do I buy crypto with a credit card?
Several exchanges offer a buy-crypto section that accepts cards in some regions. Availability, providers and fees differ by country and change over time, so check the exchange before you rely on it. Card purchases usually cost more than a spot order or a bank transfer.
How do I buy smaller altcoins?
Register on an exchange that lists the coin, deposit USDT or BTC, search for the coin in the spot market and place your order. Small altcoins are far riskier and less liquid than Bitcoin, and some are scams; verify the project before you buy.
